After years in nursing foot care, Tannis saw a gap in continuing education and completed a 200-hour Foot Care Nurse Educator Course.

Tannis Sorge is a Registered Nurse and Certified Foot Care Nurse with more than 25 years of varied experience in hospital and community nursing.
Her passion for practice standards grew alongside a thriving Lower Mainland foot care business. She has served with local foot care interest groups and as a foot care nurse adviser to committees and boards.
Tannis has spoken at Diabetes Awareness events and for the Canadian Association of Foot Care Nurses, Lower Mainland Foot Care Nurses Association, Vancouver Coastal Health, and the American Foot Care Nursing Association.
She is an instructor for Advanced Nursing Foot Care programs connected with colleges and universities in Vancouver and Victoria. Nurses travelling from remote communities and other provinces inspired PEDEd's expansion into Ontario, Manitoba, and beyond.
PEDEd continues to evolve through clinical practice, professional connection, and a willingness to keep learning.

She completed two American foot care nursing courses, passed the certification exam, and became a U.S. Certified Foot Care Nurse through W.O.C.N.C.B.
The International Diabetic Foot Conference in Houston, Wounds Canada in Kamloops, and the CAFCN conference in New Brunswick deepened a commitment to amputation prevention and current practice.
Tannis completed CSA Medical Device Reprocessing in Community Health Care Settings in preparation for PEDEd sterilization education.
PEDEd delivered workshops at CAFCN conferences in Regina and Niagara Falls, then participated in the first virtual conference in 2021.
PEDEd works with colleges, universities, clinical partners, and nurses across Canada, with graduates practising in at least five provinces.

PEDEd combines rigorous theory with clinical learning that feels supportive, relevant, and grounded in the realities of nursing foot care.
Tannis and her business partner Sandra co-developed the Advanced Nursing Foot Care course for online delivery. PEDEd honours Sandra's contribution to an educational program that continues to support nurses across the country.
